ParisPeace

There’s some things I planned on reviewing but some things make other things smaller things. The world went to bed with an open wound last night and woke up with a terrible hangover. Sometimes commentary is hard to come by but poetry flows freely from heavy hearts. Here it is…

Darkness falls on Friday in a city named for lights
Who could tell the darkness would get darker than all nights
Powder burned and lead took flight, the blood red rivers flow
Each light inside the city seemed to lose a little glow
Looking across the world from ocean waters to desert sands
I saw some Dead & Company, Rumpke Mountain and David Gans
Europe had a broken heart and Paris was shedding tears
Plans to party quickly turned to overwhelming fears
One can only wonder when they see the hatred rise
Is God just watching all of this or has he closed his eyes
Thoughts change in an instant when lives come to an end
An arrogant asshole when alive, in death a treasured friend
Just as thoughts so quickly change to all that’s really real
When a hundred die then millions cry with hurt that won’t soon heal
We know that Love won’t fade away but neither does the hate
The 60s seemed so young and early the present feels so late
The minds of time stuck on rewind and all that could’ve changed
Cries are heard from everywhere as funerals are arranged
Our leaders take their turns at who’s to blame for all the sinning
They point at parties red or blue in hopes that one is winning
The arms of love reach around the globe in a universal embrace
A gentle hand from every land wipes tears from every face
Our hearts as one we realize we’re all just like each other
We all feel as we’ve lost a mom, a dad, a sister, a brother
We know through loss that Love is born and greater than before
Hate came to a city but it’s Love that’s at the door
Imagine peace at times when peace is nowhere to be found
Imagine that the Love you give will always come around
Imagine words and thoughts that bring more smiles than regret
The Beautiful things remember and the ugly things forget
Imagine things especially when it seems they’ll never be
Spend some time just seeing things you’re not sure if you’ll see
Hold those thoughts and dreams like seeds and never let them go
Perhaps in time, with all our minds, those seeds will one day grow…

Take a moment of silence to focus on sending comfort to those who hurt…

My Love and Prayers to all…

Dead To The Core,

Dean Sottile (pronounced So Tilly)
